How to Hard Boil and Successfully Peel a Farm Fresh Egg

As if hard boiling an egg didn’t have enough of a learning curve, farm fresh eggs can make it even more difficult to get the job done right.

To get started, grab a large pot, some eggs and a bit of baking soda.
  1. Place clean eggs in pan & cover with just enough cold water to completely cover the eggs.

  1. Add 1 tbsp of baking soda to the water.

  1. Cover with lid & bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat immediately after water reaches boil.  Let eggs sit in covered pot for approximately 7-8 minutes after removing from heat.
  3. Transfer eggs to cold water.
  4. Peel & eat when ready!
The baking soda helps to pull the shell away from the flesh of the egg.
And it’s worth noting that letting your eggs sit for a couple weeks will make the task of hard boiling much, much easier.  But if you’re in a rush or just don’t want to wait, give my method a try and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
