Repurpose An Old, Junk Can

June 24, 2014 By Krystyna Thomas 1 Comment

Repurposing Tip: Reuse an old, junk can. Our farm is full – and I do mean full – of junk.   It was one of the deal when we purchased the property last year; we wanted it in as is condition.  That way we could weed through all the junk, and hopefully come across a few treasures.

One thing that comes in no short supply around here is old, rusted, junk cans.  It seems that the previous owners had a bit of a coffee addiction (Hills Bros. Coffee, to be exact).  Instead of tossing them all in a pile to head to the dump, we’ve been putting some of them to creative use.  One such example is shown in the photo, above.  Hubby uses the cans to corral his nails, screws, or other small items when working on a farm project.

Do you repurpose things around your home?  What other ways can you suggest for reusing the plethora of old cans we find around the farm?

Your post about tin cans brought a video to mind: “Salvaged tiny homestudio: tin can siding, paper bag wallpaper”. You might like it ;).
