Our friends and regular readers know that it’s more than just me and Hubby on the farm. We have kids too! Since they are homeschooled, help out with chores and are subjected to eating our healthy (and sugar free!) diet, I thought it would only make sense to have them begin to help out with the blog. That’s right! My boys, Nikolas and Brandon, will officially begin contributing as writers to our farm blog. So instead of just hearing what I have to say about life on the homestead, you and your children will get to hear what our homestead kids think of things! But before we get to their first articles, let’s get to meeting the young writers!
Nikolas is an active and energetic ten-year-old boy, currently finishing up the fifth grade. He recently placed as the 2014 Spelling Bee Champion for his virtual school and is studying for the regionals. He enjoys learning about history and science and is also an avid reader. When Nikolas isn’t working on school assignments or helping around the farm, he likes to play with friends, build things out of legos and read. For Nikolas’ very first blog piece, he will be talking about his experience being tested for food allergies and how changing his diet improved his life.
Brandon is a spirited and creative eight-year-old boy, nearly in the third grade! He likes animals, playing outside and writing stories in his journal. When Brandon isn’t working on school or helping with farm work, he likes to play with friends, build things with legos and read. In Brandon’s first blog article, he will share a personal story with you about an injury he incurred on the farm and the lesson he learned from it.
Now that you’ve met our newest writers, are you looking forward to hearing their thoughts? Be sure to stop by and visit Kids Thoughts regularly to hear what kids have to say about life on the farm, eating healthy and being schooled by mom and dad… just to name a few things!
