We welcome a new addition to our little farm on Friday night! Our goat, Felicia, gave birth to a gorgeous, polled, doeling.
Isn’t she cute as a cupcake?
My homestead hubby was there for the birth & donated his jacket for Felicia to lay on. Can you believe how fast this little girl was on her feet?
I just had to pick her up & cuddle.
She’s so small!
We’re letting Felicia do the feeding. No bottle feeding for us this time around!
I can’t wait to share more photos, along with our experiences. Dairy goats are notorious for bonding difficulties, and Felicia and her new baby are no exception. I’ll post later in the month about the little things we did to make things easier on doe and doeling. And don’t worry – it’s all easy, fast and (my favorite) cheap frugal!
We don’t have an official name for her yet, but Hubby suggested Liberty. What do you think? Help us decide on a permanent name for our new addition – leave your suggestion in the comments!
